CeRh2As2 talk by Cristoph Geibel
- New Ce-based heavy-fermion superconductor near Quantum Critical Point (QCP) which might be quadrupolar in nature
- quadrupolar QCP examples in experiment are very rare and typically Rh based
Structural properties:
- CaBe2Ge2-type tructure rather than ThCr2Si2-type. This is important because it lack an inversion symmetry at the Ce site
Magnetic properties:
- Curie-Weiss above 50K
- Moment close to Ce3+
- No evidence for order
- Weak anisotropy
Transport properties:
- Superconducting below 350mK
- Kondo scattering evident by hump around 30K-ish in temperature dependence
Heat capacity:
- Phase transition at 230mK:
- T1 drops fast with field below 3T
- Phase transition at 400mK:
- both T1 and T are highly anisotropic
MuSR experiment proposal has been accepted
